Alison Andrews-Paul, a senior at Simon Fraser in Canada representing New Zealand, finished fourth in the women's invitational elite section of the 800 meters in a personal-best 2:01.43 at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Stadium at Azusa Pacific University. Andrews-Paul eclipsed the NCAA Division 2 outdoor record of 2:02.39 achieved in 2016 by Carsyn Koch-Johnson of Cedarville in Ohio. Only Helen Crofts of Simon Fraser, who clocked 2:01.35 in the summer of 2013 at the World University Games in Russia, has run faster at any point of the year as a Division 2 competitor.
